About the project:
We are applying for a tender in Benin of Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The project is Co-financed by the European Union. The Promotion of Vocational Training in Benin (ProFoP) module focuses on sustainable economic development through a vocational training programme. The target groups include young people in primary and secondary education or those not currently in employment, education, or vocational training, as well as women, vulnerable youth, and companies.
The outputs of the module include strengthening the steering capacities of state and private sector structures for vocational training reform, building capacity in cooperation mechanisms for dual vocational education and training in selected sectors, piloting dual vocational training programmes in TVET institutions and companies, and utilising career guidance, training support, and vocational integration services. The project is co-financed by the EU and runs from May 2021 to December 2027.

As Team Leader with international experience (100%)
Place of work: Cotonou, Benin
Contract duration: Feb 2025 until Dec 2027
Tasks of the Team Leader:
- Overall responsibility for contractor work packages.
- Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate capacity development for local partners in vocational training, cooperative training, career guidance, and labor market integration.
- Integrate cross-cutting themes (e.g., gender equality, environment, climate, security) into work packages.
- Manage staff, plan and manage short-term assignments, and support experts.
- Ensure monitoring procedures are followed, report regularly and meet deadlines.
- Oversee fund usage and financial planning with GIZ.
- Participate in strategic and operational planning.
Required Qualifications of the Team Leader:
- Education/Training: University Degree (Master’s or German Diplom) in Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering, or Education/TVET.
- Language: French C2-level & English C1-level.
- General Professional Experience: 10 years in vocational training and employment promotion.
- Specific Professional Experience:
- 4 years in training design.
- 3 years in entrepreneurship.
- 3 years in job matching.
- Leadership/Management Experience: 5 years with disciplinary leadership responsibility for 10 people.
- International Experience: 8 years of professional experience (outside of Benin)
- Professional Experience in Region: 5 years of professional experience in Western Africa
- Development Cooperation Experience: 5 years in development cooperation projects.
